My Background: From Sony to Global VC
Mycareer began at Sony R&D, where I led new technology and businessdevelopment initiatives for nearly a decade, including a key assignment with PlayStationUS. Working at the intersection of R&D and commercialization taught mehow difficult it is —not only to invent something transformative,but to bring it to market and scale it sustainably.
In2015, I joined Global Brain, one of Japan’s largest venture capital firms. I launched and led the firm’s London office, built a cross-continental team, and became the first Japan-born VC to lead a pan-European investment practice with a 50+ startup portfolio. Over the years, I’ve led or supported investments in AI, cybersecurity, climate tech, food tech, biotech, fintech, insurtech, and frontier technologies. I’ve worked closely with founders, VCs, and corporates across the UK, Europe, the US, Israel, Japan, and Asia.
Through this journey, I developed a clear understanding of both the opportunities and the challenges of building cross-border connectivity in deep tech. Thenext generation of deep tech won’t be built in silos. It will be built through connection: across disciplines, across geographies, and across cultures. That understanding brought me to IQ Capital.

テクノロジー、企業のイノベーション、ベンチャーキャピタルの分野に約20年携わる中で、私には一つの確信が芽生えました。それは、ディープテックは本質的にグローバルであるにもかかわらず、そのつながりはまだ十分に構築されていない、ということです。
昨今、様々なメディアでも取り上げられているように、AI、量子コンピューティング、ロボティクス、次世代インフラにおける最も革新的なブレークスルーは、国境を越えて生まれています。ケンブリッジの研究室、ロンドンのスタートアップ、東京の研究拠点、そして英国・欧州・アジアにまたがるエコシステム。しかし、こうしたグローバルな技術革新の広がりにもかかわらず、多くのディープテック・スタートアップは、国際的な成長に不可欠なパートナーシップ、市場、キャピタルへのアクセスにおいて課題を抱えています。

経歴：ソニーからグローバルVCへ
私のキャリアはソニーのR&Dから始まり、約10年間にわたり新規技術や事業開発をリードしました。その中には、米国PlayStationにおけるPlayStation 4のローンチチームへの参画も含まれます。R&Dと技術の事業化の最前線で働く中で、革新的な発明を生み出すことの難しさだけでなく、それを市場に投入し、持続的にスケールさせることの難しさを学びました。
2015年には、日本最大級のベンチャーキャピタルであるグローバル・ブレインに参画。ロンドンオフィスを立ち上げ、クロスボーダーのチームを構築し、日本のVCとして初めて欧州全域を対象とする投資活動に従事、結果として、50社以上のスタートアップに投資し、多様なポートフォリオを構築しました。
これまでAI、サイバーセキュリティ、クライメートテック、フードテック、バイオテック、フィンテック、インシュアテック、フロンティアテクノロジーなど幅広い分野で投資や支援を行い、英国・欧州・米国・イスラエル・日本・アジアの起業家、VC、企業と密接に協働してきました。
この過程で、ディープテック分野における国境を越えたつながりを構築する上での機会と課題を深く理解するに至り、その理解と経験が私をIQ Capitalへと導きました。
